'The Rock' appointed to UFC, WWE's TKO Group board of directors

ESPN Staff Writer Marc Raimondi reported on February 1, 2024, that the UFC is in need of a new main event for its upcoming event at the Jersey Shore. Unfortunately, Sean Brady is injured and will not be able to compete in the planned welterweight headliner against Vicente Luque on March 30 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is unclear if Luque will remain on the card. Brady took to Instagram to announce that he has a “nagging injury” and will not be able to make that date, although the bout was never officially signed. Brady did express that he would be ready by the end of April or early May. Harry Mac was the first to report this news. Brady, a 31-year-old Philadelphia native, is considered one of the top up-and-coming 170-pound fighters in the world, with a record of 16-1. He is coming off a third-round submission win over Kelvin Gastelum in December. Luque, a 32-year-old Brazilian fighter who was born in New Jersey, has a record of 22-9-1 and has won five of his last seven fights.
