Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia set for junior welterweight title bout in ...

The WBC junior welterweight champ, Devin Haney, is getting ready for the very first defense of his title against Ryan Garcia on April 20. The fight was validated by Haney’s dad and fitness instructor, Bill Haney. The place for the fight is yet to be figured out.

Haney and Garcia formerly worked out a fight after Garcia’s win over Oscar Duarte and Haney’s triumph over Regis Prograis to declare the WBC belt. However, settlements failed when Garcia tried to pivot to a fight with WBA champ Rolando Romero, who later on backed out to protect his title against Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz.

After leaving his titles and going up in weight, Haney beat Lomachenko to protect his status as undeniable champ. The fight with Haney will be Garcia’s very first chance at a world champion. The winner of Garcia vs. Haney will have a lot of interesting choices for future battles, consisting of a possible clash with WBO champ Teofimo Lopez.
