Sean O’Malley has his eyes set on a lucrative crossover boxing match, and he believes WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis would be the perfect opponent. After his impressive victory over Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292, O’Malley expressed his desire to follow in the footsteps of Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather with a boxing spectacle against Davis.

O’Malley addressed his aspirations at the post-fight press conference, stating, “I also wouldn’t mind knocking out Gervonta Davis…that fight is going to happen. I feel like it could happen sooner than later. If it’s big enough, the UFC would be willing to get behind it. Maybe I have to win a few more fights, win another belt, but it’ll happen.”

O’Malley acknowledges Davis’ undefeated record and recognizes him as a star in the boxing world. While O’Malley sees himself as the main draw in this crossover fight, he believes their combined star power could generate significant revenue.

“I don’t really follow boxing, but I’ve heard of Gervonta Davis…Me vs. Gervonta would be f—ing massive,” O’Malley exclaimed. “Crazy, massive fights excite me. There are no stars in the bantamweight division. Gervonta, you can consider him almost a star, and that’s what gets me excited.”
