Following a series of arena events in various locations, the mixed martial arts leader is returning to the intimate Apex facility for the upcoming UFC Fight Night. While the atmosphere may be different, the anticipation for an explosive main event remains.
The highly ranked lightweight contenders, Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot, are set to close the event. With their impressive records of exciting fights, fans expect nothing short of a thrilling showdown on September 23.
Both fighters have high stakes, but the pressure is on “Ataman” to defend his #6 position on the ladder. Fiziev aims to maintain his place near the title picture after a close loss to Justin Gaethje at a previous event.
In a recent video, Renato Moicano, a lightweight fighter who has faced Fiziev before, shared his insights on the upcoming fight. Moicano believes that Gamrot’s superior endurance will be a key advantage in this five-round battle.
“Fiziev is a very talented striker, one of the best in MMA. However, he tends to fade as the fight progresses. On the other hand, Gamrot, an ADCC champion and skilled grappler, has incredible cardio. As the fight goes on, I believe the advantage will shift to Mateusz Gamrot,” Moicano explained.
If Gamrot proves Moicano right and delivers a remarkable performance, it could be a significant milestone in his UFC career. Currently ranked #7, Gamrot has the opportunity to move closer to the top five in the division after a victory over Jalin Turner earlier this year.
