Rizin Fighting Federation’s Landmark series event number seven has undergone some unexpected changes to its lineup.
Mehman Mamedov (6-6), former champion of Eagles Fighting Championship’s flyweight division, was originally set to face Justin Scoggins, a veteran from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, due to a medical condition requiring immediate treatment, Scoggins had to withdraw from the event. Promotional debutant Ferit Goktepe (1-1) has stepped in at the last minute to take his place. This change was announced through a press release.
Goktepe, 25, previously won a decision victory over Ibragim Moussa in November, earning him the title of Baku Open Prix 2022 bantamweight champion.
Mamedov, 35, experienced a setback in his promotional debut with a first-round knockout loss to Motonobu Tezuka last October. However, he bounced back with a knockout of his own against Yusaku Nakamura in April.
