Fabian Edwards aims to bring home another championship in the Edwards family as he takes on Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen at Bellator 299. Eblen vs. Edwards is the main event of the Dublin, Ireland event on Saturday, Sept. 23, followed shortly by Bellator 300.
Edwards, the younger sibling of UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, earned his title shot by defeating former middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi. Eblen holds a perfect record of 13-0 and is coming off a successful title defense against Anatoly Tokov after winning the title from Mousasi last year. The card also features Aaron Pico returning to the ring as he faces Pedro Carvalho in a fight that could determine the next featherweight title contender.

Bellator will celebrate its 300th event just two weeks later. The promotion has planned an exceptionally rare card featuring four championship bouts. Ryan Bader, the Bellator heavyweight champion, will face Linton Vassell, while Cris Cyborg, the women’s featherweight champion, will take on Cat Zingano. Usman Nurmagomedov, the lightweight champion, will battle Brent Primus, and Liz Carmouche, the women’s flyweight champion, will go up against Ilima-Lei Macfarlane. Nurmagomedov vs. Primus is a notable semifinal bout in the $1 million Lightweight World Grand Prix.
