Israel Adesanya, a former UFC middleweight champion, recently lost his championship title to Alex Pereira in a fifth round TKO. Adesanya and Pereira have met three times before in MMA, boxing, and kickboxing, with Pereira winning each time. After the match, Adesanya opened up about the pressure he felt going into the fight, and expressed his gratitude for the experience. He also discussed the possibility of a rematch against Pereira, or a fight against Robert Whittaker, which he is confident he will come back stronger from. Adesanya is currently taking time away from the octagon, but is expected to return in the summer of 2023.
