Raul Rosas Jr. to fight Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287 in April

Raul Rosas Jr., the 18-year-old prodigy who became the youngest ever to join the UFC, will be back in the Octagon on April 8 to face fellow up-and-comer Christian Rodriguez, sources confirmed with ESPN on Thursday. Ex-UFC champion Anthony Pettis, who represents Rodriguez through the Showtime Group agency, announced the fight on Instagram. The location and main event for the pay-per-view card are yet to be decided.

Rosas (7-0) was only 17 when he was handed a UFC contract after beating Mando Gutierrez on Dana White’s Contender Series. The Mexican-American fighter from Las Vegas then defeated Jay Perrin in his first UFC outing at UFC 282 in December.

Rodriguez (8-1) is coming off a first-round submission win over Joshua Weems in October. The 25-year-old from Milwaukee, who trains out of Roufusport, has victories in CFFC, LFA and Contender Series.

Eurosport was the first to report news of the Rosas-Rodriguez bout.
