Superlek Stuns With Second-Round TKO Of Tagir Khalilov

Superlek Kiatmoo9 has surpassed his height of 5-foot-7.

Just three weeks after defeating a WBC Muay Thai World Champion, the 27-year-old Thai fighter took on Tagir Khalilov in the main event of ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video, with only short notice.

At Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Superlek, who is the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion and the #1-ranked Muay Thai contender, quickly finished off the tough Russian in just one and a half rounds on Friday, July 14.

Although Khalilov seemed confident, having defeated two Thai strikers in his previous matches, Superlek proved to be on another level from the beginning.

Known as “The Kicking Machine,” Superlek used his elbows, jumping knees, and body shots to punish Khalilov from the start of the fight, never letting up for three minutes.

By the end of the first round, Khalilov’s face showed the damage, and little did he know, there would be more to come in the next round.

In the second round, Superlek continued his elbow attacks, causing Khalilov to defend himself by turning away. However, he was caught with an elbow, knocked down, and given an eight-count.

Despite answering the count, Khalilov was overwhelmed by Superlek’s elbows and knees, leading referee Olivier Coste to stop the fight at the 1:42 mark.

With this TKO victory, Superlek improved his striking record to 135-29, secured his ninth consecutive win, and called out both ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty.
