The upcoming Bellator fight card in March will be the first event since the promotion was acquired by the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in November. The PFL has announced the launch of the eight-event Bellator Champions Series, with each card featuring a title fight as the main event.
The Bellator 302 event in Belfast, Northern Ireland on March 22 will showcase fighters with local ties, such as Corey Anderson and Karl Moore competing for the vacant Bellator light heavyweight championship. Leah McCourt, also from Belfast, will face Sinead Kavanagh from the Republic of Ireland in the women’s featherweight co-main event.
Following the Belfast event, the PFL plans to hold seven more Bellator Champions Series events in 2024 in locations around the world where MMA is gaining popularity.
PFL CEO, Peter Murray, expressed excitement about the new era of MMA with the launch of the Bellator Champions Series global franchise. He highlighted the series as an opportunity for reigning Bellator Champion fighters to defend their titles against top fighters from around the world.
